8:00 PM - Yes... I haven't crunched the numbers yet.. but I think we're at about 46 percent and by the end of the month we should top fifty... I've updated the virtual calendar, so if you're cast or crew... check it out... I've added mini calendars to the front page for quick reference. We shoot two short scenes tomorrow evening and then a few Julia and Shannon scenes by the end of the week. I talked with David at Shooters today... he's really nice and he's willing to let us use Shooters for our pinball and pool playing scenes. I'm probably jumping the gun by mentioning a plan to throw a club/party in December... but clear your calendar for either the 8th or 15th of December.. more news to come...

Merry Christmas,

Jermy

Today's recommended film "Five Stages Of Beer" I went and saw my friend Mark's film last night at a library in Carlsbad last night. Good turn out. I saw a rough cut about six months ago and the film really tightened up. There were a lot of laughs and that's good for a comedy. Also, the sound was much better. He's supposed to show it next in a New Orleans festival on Halloween.. how cool is that... if you get a chance.. you should check it out... it's a really cool film shot locally here in SD.

9:17 AM - Phew.... I had no idea my brain could race that fast... We shot Kadan club Wed night, Lancers Thursday morning... and then a number of smaller scenes that night... uh... Everyone is helping me/us so much... the footage is really turning out great. The characters are starting to pop... can you tell I'm excited? We have about 8 to 10 pages to shoot over the next two weeks.. so I'm going to try and get with Lance to update the calendar... I'm pretty sure we'll be shooting at Thrust in November and December.. Bryan has been a big help... mondo coolio. I'm going back to work now... but keep checking the site...

Merry Christmas,

Jermy

Today's recommended film "Kill Bill" I'ts actually taken me a few days... but I've decided I like Kill Bill. It's like an artsy comic book movie... if that makes sense. Lots of gore.. but it's silly kick ass gore. I've always been a huge fan of Uma.. so it would be difficult for me not to like this movie. She does have some icky toes.. but that doesn't hurt the movie.. okay.. I'm off on a tangent... can't wait for part two...

1:36 AM - LOGISITCS... uh.. man... orgainzing all the actors, extras, locations, costumes, scripts (Lance... don't forget to print out the scripts!!!), equipment, crew... on and on and on... I'm not complaining.. it's just that sometimes I think my brain is going to leak... We're shooting at Kadan on Wednesday night and Lancers Thursday morning... that should be about 10 pages... wow.....that'll put us at about 48 percent done... so close to half way.. I can't wait. I hope everyone shows up on Wednesday.. this looks to be one of our better shoots... fingers crossed.. oh well.. I should sleep now... I'm sure this post is wrought with typos... nigh night.... zzzzzzz

Merry Christmas,

Jeromy

Today's recommended film "Clockwork Orange " I've seen a bunch of crappy movies lately... so I'm going with an old favorite... If you don't know.. Stanley Kubrick is my favorite director... and CO seriously twisted my brain as a child.... I loved it.... the imagery... the music... what a cool movie... I'd watch it right now if I wasn't so tired...

10 - 11 - 03

11:31 AM - So busy.... I'm supposed to talk to Bubba at Lancers tomorrow morning. If we can set up that shoot, that's like ten pages we could complete. Chris at Kadan's at Bryan Pollard are helping out the film incredibly. We're shooting again this Wednesday night at Kadan's. I need to talk to David or whomever at Shooters again to see if we can shoot there. I have an entire scene that revolves around a pinball machine and I believe Shooters still has their Adams Family pinball machine. I also need to talk to the people at the Flame. I better get off the computer and on to the phone.... more later....

Merry Christmas,

Jeromy

Today's recommended film "School Of Rock" What can I say? I've always liked Jack Black. I was grinning throughout the film. It's hard to believe that the same guy responsible for Chuck and Buck is responsible for this film for all ages. This a total formula film done correctly. I would watch it again and again... but I'm weird.

9:51 AM - I can't believe how fortunate I am...The more I get into this film... the more humble I am. So much has gone on over the last week.... it's difficult to recap. Well... to start off... we had an incredible experience at Pinnacle Peak. Louise and everyone else at the Peak are soooooooo coooool!!!! One of my ambitions when I started this picture was to have plenty of atmosphere to make up for my lack of experience in making such a huge project. Pinnacle Peak has atmosphere in spades.. if you haven't been there... treat yourself... you can get a look at some of Julia's pictures from our shoot here. Ahhhh... I have this overwhelming sense of gratitude that I can't completely release... okay.. composure... long story short.. we had a fun time and the movie is that much better because of it.
So that was Friday morning. As if that wasn't cool enough... we shot yesterday morning.. early.. our first goth club shoot. Awesome. I've seen this movie over and over in my head for the last year and a half. These scenes run through my head like a picture in picture with reality. If you're ever talking to me and I zone out... I'm probably daydreaming about this movie. Sorta weird. Needless to say, yesterday's shoot played out like I've seen it a million times. Yay!!!! Chris at Kadan's has himself a cool bar and he's helping us out incredibly. Lucky for me, when I asked Bryan Pollard about where I could shoot the goth scenes for my little movie, he kept insisting that I check out Kadan's. How right he was! Yesterday's shoot, while way too early, worked out so well.... uh... I'm sounding like a broken record.. but everyone is helping me/us make this a really cool movie. I think we're going to shoot a number of shots and Bryan is also trying to help me out with Hollywood's Star and his club Thrust... more on that later.
We did some unorthodox, for us that is, shooting yesterday. All of the club scenes are hand held for one. We shot about 3 times as much as we normally would because I wanted to get plenty of takes to cut between. The opening of the film is supposed to feel frentic and uneasy... so the more I have to cut between the better. The actors really had their lines down and I imagine the little bit of rehearsal we got the night before helped. When Lance and I write this stuff, we sorta act it out to each other and we can hear the lines a certain way.. then again, sometimes the actors bring us something we weren't expecting but totally makes the story real.... okay... I'm starting to blabber.. I'm going to go back to work...

Merry Christmas,

Jeromy

Today's recommended film "XX/XY" Wow! Painfully good movie. I say painfully, cuz it's not necessarily the feel good movie of the year. Real emotions and incredible actors. The conflict makes you feel icky in a way. I also had good memories of the early nineties... but this movie some how dredges up the bad parts of the nineties... I'm going to have to buy this movie.Oh, and the cinematography is incredible... it looks like available light most of the time, but they use it really well.
