1:54 PM - It's early in the morning... There aren't any WMD's to be found... I'm coloring comic books... listening to "Baby's On Fire" by Brian Eno... I have my turntable plugged into my Ibook and I'm ripping vinyl to Itunes... I wish I could be working on my movie... ahhh... soon... by this Wednesday I should be done with all of my comic work... soon....

Today's recommended film "Capturing The Friedmans" Wow... disturbing... strange... facinating... This enters my list of movies that I find amazing but not neccesarily recommendable.

10:59 PM - Ahhhhhhh..... What a productive and satisfying weekend of shooting. We've moved from 70 percent complete Monday morning to 81 percent complete as of this evening..... it feels so good. Friday, we finished the miata scene. Saturday we finished the dreaded 9 pages of the pool table scene. Today and tonight we finished a crucial romance scene.... phew.. I'm beat... now I have to finish some comic book work I have... Thank you to everyone this weekend... we're making a pretty cool film. We'll shoot some small scenes between now and the third week of February... but the big plan is to finish a number of scenes between the 15th and the 22nd.of February. oooh... I'm getting ahead of myself... gotta go... love you guys...

Today's recommended film "Open Range" Friggin cool. I likes me some Westerns... This one is pretty cool. I'm kicking myself for not seeing it in the theatre. Robert Duvall is cool. The vistas in this film are gorgeous.... I could have watched this movie, even if it didn't have the cool gunfight in the end. I rented it... but now I'll probably have to buy it.

8:58 AM - We're shooting in about an hour. A number of months ago we attempted to shoot our "Miata" scene. We borrowed a Miata and were going to do some driving scenes... lo and behold, we had our first rain delay. The weather was to bad to complete the shot.... so we've been fretting ever since. Well, today we get to complete the scene... after that we'll do some location scouting.... and tomorrow we shoot the infamous "pool table" scene... nine pages in six hours... muy difficil! We need extras... so bring your friends in black clothes. We're also looking for a nice supermarket and a good tattoo parlor.... the tattoo scene involves tattooing one of our main characters while he is drunk... so I understand why some places wouldn't want to project that image of tattooing... but we're making a comedy... anyways... We scouted out a great horse ranch on Wednesday. Leslie showed us around where she has her horse, Ranger. If all goes right, we'll be shooting there in the middle of February.... Derek.. you might want to tell Selene... we're ready for her close up. Hee... oh well... I should get going.. I have actors and crew showing up in less than an hour.. and I haven't printed scripts.... damn this shit is fun.

Today's recommended film "Lost In Translation " Excellent cinematogrophy, great acting.. interesting characters... interesting locations. funny... poignant... moving... disturbing... sad... happy... telling.... sexy... melancholy... excellent film... I've always liked papa Coppola... scary that his daughter would turn out to be the autuer... love this film...come on... Bill Murray...

12:32 AM - Okay, I'm going to keep this quick. We shot a scene with Julia and Shannon this evening.. and it looked rather cool... Thursday night we're rehearsing the pool table scene... hopefully we'll shoot the miata or zoo scene on Friday... shoot the pool table scene on Saturday... and we'll fit in some more gems over the rest of the weekend... Onwards and Upwards...

Today's recommended film "Pawnbroker" This is a real film. Sidney Lumet and Rod Steiger... it recently came out on DVD and it's fantastic. This film will not make you happy and it will most definetly make you think. A seriously dark film... but incredible just the same....
