11:16 AM - Not much new movie news... my comic is finally coming out, however... Vampyrates should be in your local comic store today or next Wednesday!

Merry Christmas,

Jermy

Today's recommended film "Spiderman 2 " Saw this last night.. really fun. Kirsten Dunst... hubba hubba. Alfred Mollina.. hubba hubb.. er.. I mean wow, what a great actor. This one felt more like a good Sam Rammi film. Bruce Cambell is hillarious.

3:53 PM - Does cleaning your office count as working on the film? Cuz I can't get shit done unless things are clean and organized... more later on my domestic construction.

Merry Christmas,

Jermy

Today's recommended film "Station Agent " This movie is close to what I want to do with my film, believe it or not. The character development, the humor, things left implied... I rented it and now I'm going to buy it... you should to... smile...

8:10 PM - I'm going to head down to CostCo on Monday to pick up some back up tapes and then I start logging all the footage. You're probably wondering why I haven't been doing this all along.. man.. I was busy making the film and coloring comics (which I was nominated for a Harvey for.. which are tomorrow night in New York.. but I can't make it.. cuz I'm broke.. cuz I put all my extra money into the film...) anyways... I'm happy as a clam. And we all know how happy clams are... I've asked Julia and Lance to start helping me with the new design for the GC post production site.. and they're all up for it.. yay.. well I'm going to see my friends bands play tonight at the Tiki.. Trophy Wife and Fairfiled Fats Band...

Merry Christmas,

Jermy

Today's recommended film "Farenheit 911 " YEAH!!! That movie ruled...I love Michael Moore.. and I love that Fox News hates him... without getting to political... years ago I went and saw Michael premiere his movie over at the Cove in LaJolla.. he talked before and after and he was a really coold guy. I bought his new book, "The Big One".. he signed it and then I asked him some technical questions about what cameras and lights he used. He told me how easy it was and how the camera he used was cheaper than mine and he encouraged me to make movies... long story short.. I've shot a movie.. now I just have to edit and promote it. Mine's not political like his... but it's personal like his is. Okay.. I'm not going to talk to much more about 911... other than you should see it.

1:07 AM - We just finished the film earlier.... sort of a weird place to tell everyone about it... but I'm exhausted and my brain isn't working right. We were supossed to shoot yesterday.. but weather was bad. Weather was bad today.. but we shot anyways.. the stuff came out great... worthy of an ending for a hard years worth of work. I think it's been a year and a week since we started principle photography. Actual time shooting is about three to four weeks... Rewarding... extremely difficult and stressful.. but rewarding.. so many people to thank... but we're not done yet... we still have coverage and pick ups to shoot... credits.... opening montage elements.... sound... sountrack... editing... song recording/producing... promotion and then foot work on the festivals... ahhh... I'd say check back in six months to see a nearly complete product... but if you're interested.. keep checking in here. I'm going to morph the website into a documentation of the post production of the film. This site will be taken down and a snazzier/hipper site will be put up... don't know when... don't know how. The next thing to look for (if I have the strength to do it...) is a trailer by the San Diego Comic Con... that's the plan... keep your fingers crossed....

Merry Christmas,

Jermy

Today's recommended film "Sound of the Sea" City of God is still messing with my brain.. so I'm picking a lighter film to talk about today. I'm watching this movie in Spanish (I've lived in Mexico and had three years of Spanish... needless to say, my Spanish is horrilblito) This film is pretty... I love the actors.. and not knowing what they are saying is making it that much more compelling... you should check it out.. it's very sexy and the photography is very interesting.

10:57 PM - Lance and I spent 11 hours the other day going over the ending of Gothic Cowboy and hammered out our notes for the first re-write of Blood Of The Innocent. We did real good... when we first started working on scripts years ago.. we were much more volatile. We have thicker skins and were much better writers. The ending to Gothic Cowboy is difficult, I sort of wrote myself into a corner.. but I figured what was it worth if I could have just dialed in the ending. I'm going to share the latest re-write tomorrow with a few of my closer writer friends to get feed back and then send it off to the actors. I've learned that I can't make everyone happy and at the end of the day I shouldn't. I'm going to stop typing now.. lest I give away the ending.

Merry Christmas,

Jermy

Today's recommended film "City Of God " Daaaammmmmnnnn... this movie is good. Sad but good. I really have to watch it a second time to absorb it more. I really have no complaints about this movie... love it love it.. love it. Great cinematography that feels part documentary and part drama. Some of the story arcs are quite Shakespearian. The story telling is intriguing.. ooohhh.. I might watch it again right now...

11:28 AM - Go Smarty Jones. phew.. I sorta fell off the wagon with updating the journal, but I'm back. So much has happened, like always. Lance has launched the BOTI site We're getting ready to polish the last scene and shoot it. I sent out Vampyrates to be printed and now I start work on the first More Funner book. Fun times.... I really enjoy my life. Granted, now that I've typed that.. something terrible will check into my life to keep me in check. "Hi, my name is Karma... I'm moving in for awhile." But that just makes me respect right now even more. Keep checking back this month to see us finish the film.

Merry Christmas,

Jermy

Today's recommended film "Coffee and Cigarettes" Saw this last night. I've been wanting to see it since I saw it on the quicktime site. So funny.. Bill Murray... Tesla coil...Can I say no? I'll be able to watch this film over and over... I haven't seen all of Jim Jarmusch's movies yet.. but that's sort of on purpose. When I go to the video store.. I've seen 90 percent of the movies.. even the crappy ones... so I figure if I save good directors films like Jim Jarmusch and Wim Wenders I'll have something really good to watch when I need it. Sorta like a good movie canteen. Well I've drank "Coffee and Cigarettes" and it tasted damn fine. Even better than IHOP coffee.
